Minnesota Reading Corps is a strategic initiative of ServeMinnesota.

Right now, nearly one in four 3rd graders in Minnesota is failing to reach basic levels of literacy. That’s 15,000 children each year. If kids don't read proficiently by 3rd grade, odds are against them for all future learning.

Reading Corps, one of the largest AmeriCorps programs in the country, is a statewide initiative to help every Minnesota child become a successful reader by the end of 3rd grade. AmeriCorps members are trained in research-based instruction and help students age 3 through grade 3 catch up to their peers.
